Charles and Ray Eames believed that “design is a method of action,” and they continually updated their work to suit changing needs and solve new problems. In 1948, they entered a prototype chair in MoMA’s International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design, which led to the launch of their Molded Shell dining chair collection in 1950.
